The Thomas Township Police Department, along with the Fire Department administration, is located in the Public Safety Administration Office at 8215 Shields Drive. It is located west of the intersection of N. Miller and Shields Drive. The Police Department provides twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week police service. The Department currently consists of the Chief, Sergeant, five Police Officers and an Administrative Secretary.
The Police Department is a full service department that provides twenty-four hour police coverage. All officers of the department are certified as police officers through the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and are trained to handle almost any situation that may arise, from the simplest calls for police service to major felony investigations in progress.
The Public Safety Administration Office building also houses a substation for the Michigan State Police. One (1) trooper is assigned from the Bridgeport Post and provides service primarily to the west side of the county.
