Thomas Trail

In 2013 Thomas Township Completed a 2.3 Mile paved trail extending from the 11-mile Saginaw Valley Rail Trail heading North to the Governmental complex trailhead on Shields Drive.  The trail winds along power line right of ways and through a portion of Kluck Nursey, a wood lot, farm fields and the Swan Valley High School.  The paved trail has become a popular spot to run, walk or bicycle for the 12,000 residents and visitors of the township.  Often deer or other wildlife can be observed with the occasional Bald Eagle flying above.

The recently completed trail head pavilion has ample parking, picnic tables with a seasonal water fountain and restrooms.

In 2018 a three-quarter mile extension was completed North along the Consumer right of way ending at Miller Rd.
