Summer Taxes

Summer Taxes are delivered on or about July 1st each year and are due by September 14th.  In the event that September 14th  falls on a weekend then the summer tax bill would be due on the next business day.  If you do not receive a summer tax bill by July 5th, please contact us immediately.

July Tax Deferral Eligibility

You may be able to defer your summer tax bill for one of the following reasons:

  • You own a homestead property and are 62 years of age or older with an income of $25,000/year or less.
  • Persons with a disability that allow them to qualify for an extra personal exemption on the State income tax form.
  • Agricultural property in which the gross receipts of the farming operation are not less than the household income for the previous year.

If any of these criteria fit your situation, you may fill out a deferment form in our office or online. The deferral form must be filled out prior to September 14 each year.

Summer Tax Deferment Form – Deferring the summer tax bill means you have until the winter tax bill due date (last day of February) to pay your bill without penalty.

Deferment of summer taxes does not relieve the property owner from the payment of taxes, it only allows them to defer the payment until the last day of February.

If deferred, the summer tax amount will not appear on your winter tax statement.

All payments should be made by check, money order, or cash.  Many banks and credit unions will issue a check or money order for a withdrawal at no charge or for a small fee.

Winter Taxes

Winter taxes will be delivered on or about December 1st and are due by February 28th.  In the event that February 28th falls on a weekend the winter tax bill would be due on the next business day.  If you do not receive a winter tax bill by December 5th, please contact us immediately.

All payments must be received or postmarked no later than December 31st to be considered paid in that year.

If your property taxes are paid by an escrow account, you will receive confirmation of payment in the form of a paid property tax receipt.  If you do not receive a paid tax receipt, you may want to contact your bank and make arrangements for payment.

All payments should be made by check, money order, or cash.  Many banks and credit unions will issue a check or money order for a withdrawal at no charge or for a small fee.
