Important Dates for the August 4, 2026 Primary Election
July 21-August 4, 2026: Registration to vote must be done in person at the Clerk’s Office with proof of residency.
July 24, 2026: 5 p.m. deadline for Electors who have returned their absentee ballot to submit a written request in person to spoil their absentee ballot and receive a new absentee ballot at the Clerk’s Office.
July 25-August 2, 2026: Period of Early Voting at 618 Cass Street, Saginaw, Michigan-Saginaw County Early Voting Center.
July 31, 2026: 5 p.m. deadline for Clerks to send an absent voter ballot via First Class Mail.
July 31, 2026: 5 p.m. deadline for Electors who have lost or not yet received their absentee ballot in the mail to submit a written request to spoil their absentee ballot and receive a new one in the office or by mail.
August 1, 2026: Mandatory Saturday Office Hours 8 a.m.-4 p.m. for the purpose of receiving and distributing absentee ballots to those coming into the office to request one and completing voter registrations with proof of residency.
August 3, 2026: Deadline for Electors who have lost or not yet received their absentee ballot in the mail to submit a written request to spoil their ballot and receive a new one in the Clerk’s Office.
August 3, 2026: 4 p.m. deadline for a registered voter to apply for an absentee ballot in person at the Clerk’s Office.
August 4, 2026: Election Day-polls open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
August 4, 2026: Election Day registrants may obtain an absentee ballot in the Clerk’s Office or vote in person at the precinct.
