Thomas Township Parks & Recreation Full-Time Clerical
Thomas Township has an opening for a Clerical I position in the Parks Department. This is a full-time union position that includes the full range of benefits offered by the Township in accordance with the current labor agreement with the SEIU. This position requires some weekends and evening working hours. Starting wage is $18.78/hour.
An employee in this position may be called on to do any or all of the following essential
duties: (These examples do not include all of the duties which the employee may be
expected to perform.)
- Manage program registrations for all the various parks and recreation programs, including creating, preparing and distributing fliers and other promotional tools.
- Attends all Parks and Recreation Commission meetings and takes minutes.
- Works special events such as Haunted Train Ride, Winter Wonderland and other events and needed.
- Maintain records and stats for various parks and recreation programs. Also, maintain updated mailing lists and handle program mailings.
- Assist with payroll for seasonal employees, i.e. collect and organize payroll sheets from all the various programs and providing them to the Finance Coordinator in a timely manner.
- Perform reception and counter duties. Receive visitors and telephone calls, answer routine inquiries and complaints referring them to the proper authorities as necessary.
- Type a variety of correspondence and other materials from rough drafts or according to standardized form.
- Operate office equipment such as, but not limited to, computer, typewriter, calculator, copy machine and fax.
- Occasionally drives to deliver or pick up items.
