The Thomas Township Business Association is looking for you! Your participation is welcome and necessary to ensure that our Association continues to grow and our Township continues to prosper both residentially and commercially.  You will have an opportunity to talk with people who share the same concerns and goals and are working to improve their community.  For more information about the Business Association, go to the TTBA website at http://ttbami.com/

Meetings feature a guest speaker, well versed on topics keyed to the interests of our members.  Programs have provided members with information on many interesting and relevant topics.

Major Accomplishment

The Thomas Township Business Association was the driving force behind the start of the Thomas Township Downtown Development Authority or DDA. This Authority was developed to improve the business district and help businesses grow in Thomas Township. It is important to have a strong business district within a growing and active residential community such as Thomas Township.  Residents require many of the services and goods that the business district provides.

Projects

Projects have included Christmas Lighting of the Gratiot Corridor; the Children’s Christmas Program; the Tom Pekas Memorial Scholarship; and donations to the Thomas Township Parks.

The Business Association worked along with Thomas Township and the DDA to install streetlights along the Gratiot (M-46) corridor.  In the fall of 2011, the DDA installed 98 streetlights from the Tittabawassee River along both sides of Gratiot to the west entrance of Meijer.

The Business Association has helped to fund an over-the-road banner pole as well. The banners will identify special community-wide events that are sure to bring attention to the area and will highlight our community.

Reasons to join us

Being connected to the Business Association will help create leads for business contacts. The Business Association holds seasonal gatherings to strengthen business relationships and to foster new and exciting ideas for the future. Two such gatherings are the Business Holiday After Hours Event in the fall and the March Madness After Hours Event in the spring of the year. We also hold a major golf outing in August that helps fund many of our projects. We also hold a great spring event that allows you to grill a steak and meet others from the community. The annual Steak Out is intended to give everyone a night out, for you to meet business owners in the community, and for the Business Association to award its annual Tom Pekas Memorial Scholarship and Thomas Township Scholarship.
