Please check to make sure that branches and leaves from shrubs, trees or other plantings are not covering the outside reader for your water meter. Department of Public Works employees must record the readings of approximately 1800 of these readers over a 3-4 day span each month. Their task is slowed down and made more difficult if they are required to move plant growth in order to see the reader.

Do not pour grease and oil from cooking down the drain. While the grease may be in a liquid form at the time it is dumped into the drain, it will cool and congeal later, blocking the sanitary sewer lines and causing sewage to back up.
