Hunting Closure

Thomas Township has a hunting closure ordinance that makes it unlawful to hunt with or discharge a centerfire rifle within the Township limits.  The only exception to this ordinance is Saginaw Field and Stream.

The Township has also established “Safety Zones” which are defined as all the area within four hundred fifty feet (450’) of an occupied dwelling, house, cabin, residence or any barn or other building used in a farm operation.  No person may hunt or discharge a firearm within a safety zone or shoot any wild animal or wild bird while the animal or bird is within a safety zone, without permission of the owner or occupant of such safety zone.  This shall apply to all hunters, including archery hunters within Thomas Township.
