Below is an article from the Saginaw News when we started this endeavor that list the many foundations, companies and the community involved. Special thanks to all the people who donated and made this happen. THOMAS TWP. — Thomas Township started work Monday on new soccer fields at Roberts Park. The park expansion, made possible through donations, will transform the park and add three soccer fields, walking trails, a playscape, pavilions, a restroom, basketball courts, a pond and a dog park. The park is at 605 S. Miller, next to the Shields Men’s Club Festival Grounds. Mid-Michigan area businesses and organizations that donated to the renovations are: Hemlock Semiconductor, Thomas Township Kiwanis, Shields Lions Club, the Thomas Township Business Association, Nickless Foundation, Bierlein Companies Inc., Dow Chemical Foundation, Anderson Foundation, Wickes Foundation, Martin Chevrolet, Gerstacker Foundation, Tri Valley Landscaping, Wickson Link Foundation, Saginaw Community Foundation,Thomas Township and the Thomas Township Parks Association. Individual community members also donated to the project. Thomas Township Parks and Recreation also earned two grants through the Michigan Department of National Resources.

 January 10th, 2012 Construction has been shut down for winter and will begin back up in spring. Champagne and Marx did an exceptional job of beating every deadline on this project, special thanks to foreman Bob Feldotte for making sure things were done right and on time!
