Voter  Information

The Secretary of State launched a website for the residents of Michigan called Publius.  Any person can go to this website, type in their name and address, and if they are registered, the site will list where they are registered, show them their ballot for an upcoming election, and show them a map on how to get to their polling location.

It is really useful and saves residents who have Internet access from having to call around during office hours to find out where they have to go to vote.  Now anyone can access their information day or night, at their convenience.

Voter Registration

To be eligible to vote, a person must be at least 18 years of age on Election day or before and registered to vote at least 30 days prior to an election in his or her jurisdiction of residence.  Residents who wish to register to vote may stop at the office during office hours or may visit any Secretary of State branch office.  A registration form may be downloaded from the Department of State website at www.sos.state.mi.us/pamphlet/voting.html.  Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to download the form.

Voter Lists

Various lists of registered voters may be obtained for a fee.  For example, a list of registered voters in a certain precinct or those who voted in a certain election may be available.  The fee schedule is

Thomas Township has seven polling locations.  They are:

Precinct 1: Fire Station #2, corner of Dice and Thomas Roads, 9970 Dice Road, Freeland.

Precinct 2: Fire Station #1, corner of Shields Dr and Miller Rd, 355 N Miller Rd, Saginaw.

Precinct 3: Public Safety Administration Building, 8215 Shields Dr, Saginaw.

Precinct 4: Public Safety Administration Building, 8215 Shields Dr, Saginaw.

Precinct 5: Thomas Township Library, 8207 Shields Dr, Saginaw.
